Water Wise House Calls
Residents – both homeowners and renters – are eligible for a free
program that will help you save water and money. With just a phone
call, a friendly, certified conservation expert will visit your home to identify ways you can save water both indoors and out. The audits last from 20 minutes to one hour, in which California American Water conservation experts will check your irrigation systems for leaks, teach you to read your meter, and create an individualized, annual watering schedule for your landscape. California American Water and the MPWMD also offer customers free water-saving devices including low-flow showerheads, sink aerators, hose nozzles, timers and more! Stop by California American Water’s local office at 511 Forest Lodge Road, Suite 100, Pacific Grove, CA 93950 or the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District at 5 Harris Court, Monterey, CA 93940 during normal business hours to pick up your free water conservation devices!

Residential/Commercial Landscape Audits/Budgets
Landscape Water Audits and Budgets are offered free of charge to
all water users who use over 320 units a month on average, users with
dedicated irrigation meters or with large irrigated areas over three
acres. Limited audits and budgets are offered to all others upon
request. Please call California American Water at (831) 646-3205 to schedule your appointment.
Condos/Apartments
Property owners, managers and Homeowner Associations are encouraged to contact California American Water and MPWMD to schedule a water conservation audit and to learn more about rebates available for water-wise retrofits, including water-saving irrigation systems. All residential conservation programs and incentives, including free low-flow devices, are available for multi-residential units.

Permits Required
Water Permits from MPWMD are required prior to the addition, modification or relocation of any water fixtures in a residential use. Additional information can be found in
